Getting back in the saddle after a long abscence is so great! When I got my new scooter about a month ago I hadn't ridden a scoot in about 6 months! It's so good to get back out there.

it did feel good.. but for a short time...
The Herc started to slack again... but since it had everything done.. there was only one solution... roller weights on the variator got too old and too worn down... so I just got a pack of fresh 7.5g rollers and I'm ready to get dirty Smile
anyway my scoot has lots of power it just needs some shaking from side to side so the rollers can adjust and it's flying again Very Happy
I hope the rollers will work fine... if not I think I'll go back to 10.4g rollers... I'll keep you posted on this one Smile

OK..
So I tossed in the lighter rollers...and the problems are gone... but as DD mantioned in his article ( http://cv80.phpbbweb.com/viewtopic.php?t=10&highlight=rollers ) the 7.5g rollers aid the acceleration but hurt the top speed... I used some TopRacing rollers manufactured by Jasil in spain... they claim that the 15x12 rollers in their offer range from 3.5 to 16.5g (wow) so I'm thinking on getting the 10.4 - 10.5g rollers from them (so if needed I can go back to the manufacturers setup) and maybe try the 6.5 ones as well...

So the Herc is back in some way but still need some work...

Can you give me some advice on the rollers decision?

When I gradually dropped my rollers from stock (12g?) down to 3g, I experience a loss in top speed from about 90km/hr (55mph) down to 80km/hr (50mph). I didn't really like cruising faster than 50mph anyways because it was revving so darn high, so I was fine with that. 10.5g should keep pretty much all of your top end, but it also won't help acceleration too much either (most likely). It's probably a good compromise if you want both.

So after days and moths spend trying to figure out what was going on it turned out to be mostly the primary sheave and muffler problem Embarassed
Anyway the last ride of the year (during a light snow fall) from the workshop to my garage gave me as much fun and pleasure as the firs one I ever had. Also the Herc managed a decent 80km/h twice without any careful accelerating or and riding/driving tricks Very Happy

Now it is nicely stored for the winter and my plan is to upgrade the looks of it. Mainly the reproduced stickers on the engine side covers, chrome lining on the front fender and the windshield but the main project would be a side bag for storing and transporting thing (just like on a bicycle) since an original trunk is impossible to find.
