North America got a watered down version of the Beluga (no glovebox, no integrated front blinkers, no integrated rear taillight blinkers) which has long had me lusting for this forbidden fruit. In addition to these items, it seems that Yamaha made a few accessories for the Beluga which were never sold in North America (or maybe they were but I've never seen them).

I was looking at some pictures of the Yamaha Beluga Tamiya model that you can buy and I noticed that in addition to the rear storage container and windscreen, a side rack for a Tennis racket is shown. It's possible that Tamiya added this on but I suspect it's an official accessory because everything else is accurate. The picture of this model shown below gives a glimpse of how this rack attached to the Beluga.

This past summer a brand new (old stock) OEM Yamaha rear storage container was listed on eBay for the Beluga for around $50. I'm not sure how the seller got a hold of it but I'm kicking myself for not realizing the significance of that listing at the time. The container was kinda ugly but it was made by Yamaha and it matched the (red) Beluga perfectly so it would have been an awesome thing to toss on for long rides. Sadly I didn't bid on it or even save the pictures from that listing. These images from the Beluga model give you an idea of what these accessories looked like but they don't really do it justice.

Here's the link to the site with the pics and info on the Beluga model:

Fender ornament too. Probably with our turn blinkers the rack would not have worked . DOT take all the fun out. lol

I was just wondering if anyone ever saw the original rear container?

I saw an original NOS Yamaha rear container on eBay last summer/fall for $50. I'm kicking myself for not picking it up...I don't really dig the look but it would have been rad to toss on for trips.

So you have the official Yamaha box but aren't going to use it? You should sell it on here. Others would be thrilled to get it and you could score a nice wad of cash.

I don't really like the look of storage trunks either but it is really cool that you have the official one. If I had it, I'd rarely but it on but I would use it on long trips since that would be so handy.

What kinda custom work are you considering? It seems like a shame to modify one of the few remaining examples of this part.

Umm.....maybe someone will chime in who is interested in buying it. I imagine it would fetch about $50.
