For whatever reason, a lot of spammers (ie. 10-30 per day) are trying to sign up for this forum - I guess it made it onto some spammers list or something - in any case, this has led me to require that I manually approve every account. Often it's pretty tough to guess who is a real user and who's a spammer just by looking at the username, so a lot of legit users aren't getting approved which is really hurting the community here.
If you want to get access to this forum and your account isn't approved within 24 hours or so, send an email to durston.dan at gmail dotcom and I'll make sure you account gets approved. Or just send one right away when you sign up and I'll get your account approved right away. I'm usually online a few times per day.
Alternatively, I spend quite a bit of time over at motorscooterguide.net, as I'm running that site and those forums too, so if you need to get in touch for any reason then you can head to that site or that forum and contact me there. Sign up there doesn't require approval by me, because I have more control over those forums so I was able to add some spam reducing steps to signing up.
Cheers,
Dan

Just a quick post because this site needs a post every two months or phpbbweb will delete it. It would be a shame to lose all the info here. Kinda sad it's come to this. |

If anyone wants to take over running this forum (ie. activating accounts) I'd be happy to pass the reins over to any CV80 enthusiast who's got a track record here of at least a moderate number of posts and/or the enthusiasm for it. The number of spam accounts has dropped a lot which is great....mostly real users signing up now (fingers crossed).
It seems we're getting some new members now that the weather is nice which is great. |

Oh I would never let it die.....I just don't get on this site as often as I used to because I don't have a CV80 anymore and thus have less to contribute. So I still check in regularly and try to help people out, but if someone is on here more often and wanted to do some more moderation work (ie. watching for spam, activating accounts) then I'd be happy to pass those duties over.
I spend most of my time at www.motorscooterguide.net, which is my other site. I'm doing a lot of work there (mostly writing) about all sorts of scooters. |

Whelp things are pretty quite on here these days, but here's an annual post to keep the website active so it's not deleted. A lot of folks still read these pages even if spammers have made it too hard to register. |
