Alas there is news on how to upgrade the variator clutch, contra spring, and clutch bell.

The Yamaha Zuma BWS 125 parts match up perfectly, and look prime for upgrading these cv80s to a higher performing machine. These parts are great for stock replacement too.

I will post some links to what parts are necessary for a basic upgrade, and also for high performance. There are a few options depending on how your scoot is setup to perform. The main consideration is the exhaust pipe , and which rpm it is most resonant and tuned to operate at.
