I have an 87 CV80. I followed the spark plug wire and it went under the floor board and up on to the front of the frame. I would have had to take off the front plastics to actually find the coil. Yamaha might have have changed the location when the side stand was added.
You may just want to improvise and make your own location. Otherwise you will need to remove your front plastics and get a much longer wire.
