I was curious as to how many miles some CV-80`s have traveled. Both of mine are 1982`s, yet both have under 10,000 kms (approx. 6000 miles) My "good" Beluga should roll over the 10,000 km mark this year, as its at 9900, but the parts bike is showing 8700. That sure sounds like low mileage for a 30 year old bike! I realize nobody would be taking a 80cc scooter on a cross country trek across North America, but is such low mileage that common? How many miles or KM on your CV-80? Who has the highest reading? How long should one of these scooters travel before major repairs are required? Is 10,000 km "over the hill" for these things?

My 1987 CV80 has 9981 miles (16,000 km) on it and still going strong. It still starts on the first kick every time. As far as I know it has not had any major overhauls.
Your bike still has plenty of life left in it.

Mine had about 16,000 kms on it as I recall. Low milage examples are fairly common because lots of people buy a scooter, use it for a season or two and then don't want to insure it or whatever, so it sits in the shed for a decade or two.

It's tough to say the life for one of these, as it really depends on maintenance. I've see Honda Aero 80's from 1983 with 60,000 kms on them. I would say 30-40K is easily do-able with proper maintenance, but some of these CV80's that have sat in sheds for 20 years may have internal engine rust and corrosion that means engine failure can happen much sooner.
